In Ukraine, during the period of hostilities, the company almost did not stop cooperation with Ukrainian clients. Although some projects were frozen by customers, Ukrainian companies do not plan to abandon development.
Since further prospects for development in retail are closely related to the transition to systems with environmentally friendly refrigerants, in regions where there were no hostilities, retailers continue to modernize refrigeration equipment systems.
At the same time, in the deoccupied territories, business began to intensively restore its formats. Vyacheslav Mokhov, CEO of Ralco Technic, told how his company rebuilt its production business processes and helps businesses launch their work faster, taking into account current changes in the market
- In which regions is the most active store renovation now?
We are currently actively engaged in restoration and repair work in the South and Center of Ukraine. In Mykolaiv, equipment was mostly restored, and in Irpen and the suburbs of Kyiv, work is already underway to diagnose and launch stores that were shelled.
– In the south and east, there is still a danger of damage to stores, are owners now relocating their businesses outside of these regions?
Yes, there are requests from customers who have decided to move equipment to another location and need to dismantle it. This is no less difficult work, the more carefully it is done, the easier it is to reassemble everything.
In some regions, stores have suffered significant damage. From your perspective, how badly were the stores damaged? Is it difficult to restore their operations?
- We see, at some facilities, that in most cases the equipment is subject to restoration and repair, this is due to the fact that the main components and units are not located on the facades of buildings, but in closed rooms or in protective structures, but of course, in about 30% of cases, new units have to be promptly installed and configured.
- The same applies to equipment at industrial facilities. We have currently carried out several restoration works at large food production enterprises where refrigeration systems were previously installed, and in general we were able to quickly set up and start the equipment.
Most of your clients are grocery retailers,
which of them are currently continuing to grow?
Large companies continue to work, within their capabilities, as they have financial reserves and/or international investments. In April, we completed a very interesting project in the METRO store in Ivano-Frankivsk, where refrigeration and freezers using CO2 refrigerant were installed. This is the company’s second HUB using CO2.
All work was completed on time within 10 days, despite problems with logistics and production at the initial stage. We are starting a new CO2 project, since further development prospects in retail are closely related to the transition to systems with environmentally friendly refrigerants, where our company already has good expertise. Regional networks are also gradually resuming work.
